Handicapped parking (disabled parking)

A Handicapped parking space is a properly signposted slot, not more than 100 meters away from the specified property. The accessibility is not quoted if there are no steps or obstructions between the parking space and the property.

A Handicapped-Person Pass for disabled persons, under the Austrian rule § 29b StVO 1960, can be obtained from the Magistrate Department MA 15, 1030 Wien (Vienna), Dr. Thomas-Klestil-Platz 8/2. Double-wing Doors

The total width is to be measured if both doors are easy to open. If not, then only one door is to be measured.

Movement area

The Movement Area is the area set aside for all wheelchair users. This area should have a minimum measurement of 150 cm x 150 cm for the unhindered turning of the wheelchair. All areas that meet or exceed this requirement are listed in our Online-databank.

Public Restroom

A necessary Eurokey for all public restrooms for persons with a disability can be obtained at the ÖAR (Austrian Occupational Rehabilitation Office). More information to Eurokey can be found under: www.oear.or.at www.oear.or.at ( „service“ – „euro key“)or by calling: 01/5131533.

To avoid accidents a lateral restriction of walls, curbs, wooden planks or such is present.

Wheelchair Spaces

All wheelchair spaces must be located on a level area and have a minimum measurement of 80 cm x 120 cm. Areas that contain more than 4 wheelchair spaces should be posted with „mind. 4“ or „> 4“.
